No sooner have the first rays of sunshine appeared than Medienwerft kicks off the leisure park season by relaunching the website of Heide Park Resort ( The relaunch focused on revamping all of the home pages and optimising header, footer and background imagery on all content pages.

The aim was to improve ease of operation, optimise load times, and – naturally – provide quick, direct access to the ticket shop. The relaunch package also included designing a new newsletter and a banner concept. Northern Germany’s biggest and best leisure park can now be seen in what is a significantly modernised look, while its website visitors enjoy much more focused access to all of the services on offer.

Medienwerft has been assisting Heide Park Resort as its Internet agency since the beginning of the year. This collaboration is set to include the ongoing improvement of all of the leisure park’s online services. “We don’t see the relaunch as one single activity. It is part of a harmonised e-commerce and image strategy that aims to make our client the benchmark for the whole industry,” says Hendrik van Laaten, managing director of Medienwerft, explaining the agency’s ambitious goals. “This involves reviewing each area of online communication one after the other and optimising them together with the client.”


Northern Germany’s biggest and best leisure park offers a magnificent world of adventure to be discovered spread over 850,000 square metres. Colossos, the world’s fastest and highest wooden roller coaster; thrilling shows in the Bay of the Pirate’s Skull, the Desert Race catapult-start roller coaster; Scream, the world’s highest gyro-drop tower: along with countless other rides and facilities, these make for an outstanding day out for the whole family. The park’s short-break destinations include the four-star pirate outpost Hotel Port Royal, as well as the Caribbean-themed Holiday Camp. Heide Park Resort upped the stakes once again recently by opening its latest big attraction, the KRAKE – Germany’s first dive coaster – in spring 2011. Heide Park Resort is part of the British Merlin Entertainments Group, which owns numerous other leisure facilities such as Alton Towers, Legoland, Sea Life and the Madame Tussauds waxwork exhibitions.
