Digital accessibility: future-proof with inclusive design – in B2C and B2B
Digital accessibility concerns everyone – almost 8 million people are affected in Germany alone, but also all B2C and B2B companies that use inclusive design to reach new target groups and strengthen their brand. Those who create accessible digital offerings secure decisive competitive advantages and also meet the legal requirements of the German Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG). Our CX experts will accompany you on the path to digital accessibility. Together, we will design a digital experience that is accessible to everyone.
- Maximum user-friendliness for diverse target groups
- Increasing the conversion rate
- Future-proof
Digital accessibility pays off for everyone
Digital accessibility is often primarily associated with the B2C sector, but it is also becoming increasingly important in B2B. This is because inclusive design not only benefits people with disabilities – it improves the user experience for everyone: all users, regardless of their individual needs or temporary limitations, can access digital resources, products and services efficiently and without barriers. And that pays off:
- People with disabilities use the internet more frequently on average
- 10-15% of employees in companies are restricted in one way or another
- 71% of people with disabilities won’t make a purchase if a website is not accessible
Beneficial for everyone – regardless of the Accessibility Improvement Act (BFSG)
Even companies that are not directly affected by the BFSG benefit from digital accessibility. An accessible app in the warehouse, for example, makes it easier for all employees to use, regardless of their personal limitations. This increases efficiency, reduces errors and promotes inclusion – a clear advantage for internal processes and employee satisfaction.
- Greater ROI: Increased customer lifetime value and lower operating costs
- Expanded target group: More potential customers and partners
- Higher conversion rate: Improved UX and reduced bounce rate
- Many areas of application: Whether self-service or IoT dashboards, SCM systems or B2B stores

Our A11Y process
on digital accessibility
The number 11 stands for the 11 letters between the “A” and the “Y” in “Accessibility”. This acronym is often used to describe the topic of accessibility in the digital context, especially in relation to websites, applications and other digital platforms. With our expertise, we can help you make your digital projects accessible. For this purpose, we have established a process that will guide you safely towards accessibility.

Hamburg Wasser – digital accessibility in TYPO3
The focus of our website project for HAMBURG WASSER was digital accessibility. In joint workshops, concepts for target group analysis, information architecture and wireframes of the most important pages were designed and then implemented.
For optimal implementation, we worked with HAMBURG WASSER to anchor barrier-free development in the foundation – in other words, in our concepts. This ensures that all users, regardless of their physical or cognitive abilities, have easy and equal access to the information and services on offer.
Accessibility with headless content management systems
A headless architecture in itself does not automatically make a system more accessible, but it does offer important advantages that can facilitate the implementation of accessibility:
- Flexibility in platform customization
- Better integration of accessibility tools
- Faster and more flexible implementation of accessibility
The most important questions about accessibility
Accessible digital offerings promote inclusion, compensate for disadvantages and ensure that digital content and services can be used by everyone. They also contribute to greater user-friendliness for the entire population. Here are the main groups that benefit from this:
- People with disabilities such as visually impaired and blind people, hearing impaired and deaf people, people with motor impairments and cognitively impaired people
- Elderly people
- People with temporary restrictions such as injuries or temporary impairments
- People in challenging environments (poor lighting, noisy surroundings or unstable internet connections)
- Non-native speaking users
Accessibility helps to attract new customers, improve the loyalty of existing customers and improve the efficiency of digital offerings. Companies benefit from a stronger brand, better sales and a sustainable competitive position.
Accessibility in the B2B sector enables better collaboration, strengthens customer relationships and opens doors to new markets and tenders. Accessible products and services allow companies to position themselves as innovative, future-proof and customer-oriented.
Accessibility in the B2C sector is a key success factor. It enables access to a larger target group, improves the user experience and strengthens customer loyalty. At the same time, companies position themselves as innovative, responsible and customer-oriented. The SEO ranking also improves thanks to semantically correct HTML code and alternative texts. This contributes to higher sales, better brand perception and long-term success.
