TVINO.DE grabs the coveted “Online shop jury innovation prize 2009”
The video wine shop TVINO.de, launched in 2009, has been awarded the renowned “Online Shop Jury Innovation Prize 2009” at the mail order congress. In Germany, the prize rankes as the most coveted award for innovative concepts in the online mail order sector.
The Hanseatic wine dealer commissioned Hamburg agency Medienwerft to design and implement the TVINO.de video shop. The distinguished jury of experts was especially impressed by the blend of emotional, high quality product presentation and the new direct wine ordering options. Particular mention was made of the easy order process and the fact that users can become involved in the design of the shop via comment functions. At the award ceremony on September 29, 2009 in Wiesbaden, TVINO.de prevailed over strong competitors and came out on top in the final round.
For the tenth time “Catalogue of the Year” and “Online Shop” prizes were awarded in the business-to-consumer and business-to-business categories in the mail order sector’s most important competition. “We are pleased to have convinced the jury of experts with our concept for TVINO, especially against such strong competition. This innovation prize for TVINO and the overwhelming user response will motivate us to develop more novel concepts in the field of video commerce,” says Frank Meier, Managing Director of Medienwerft. TVINO was launched as a new web TV format in July this year. In weekly episodes, the renowned wine expert Hendrik Thoma presented the wine topics in a new and entertaining way. Viewers can order the wines featured in the TVINO video episodes directly without having to exit the video portal.
TVINO.de was Medienwerft’s first project in the video commerce area. The agency’s long standing experience and expertise in eCommerce and in new trends and technologies proved especially instrumental in developing and implementing the project. Video on the web enjoys a high level of acceptance and popularity among Internet users. Powered by high speed DSL flat rates and technologies such as the Flash plug-in video player now widely available, users can easily locate content that is precisely oriented towards their needs on the web and access it conveniently. Medienwerft believes that interactive video is a highly attractive sales platform, enabling eCommerce providers to set themselves off from competing shops. In the future Medienwerft aims to build on the success of TVINO and reinforce its reputation as a video commerce pioneer.
